A New Years Message from Ali

I would like to wish you all a very happy and healthy 2022. I’m not going to mention all the challenges we are facing I just want to send you all my very best wishes for getting through these tough times and hope that our meal delivery service can offer you some respite from the daily tasks of shopping and cooking that have been made so much harder.

I have faced many of my own challenges as the owner of a catering business. A big part of my business is compromises with large gatherings such as weddings and office lunches, most of which have been cancelled. I was very lucky to have my meal delivery business to focus on over the last two years and essentially it has kept my business afloat! Our meal preparation and delivery systems have changed and improved as we strive to make it a better and more convenient service for you.

Each and every meal is made by me with your good health in mind and I’m always striving to make my food not only better for you and your family, but tastier! We are always trying to keep our prices affordable while maintaining excellent quality.

Making our deliveries less impactful on the planet is also a priority for Pachamama in 2022. Here are a couple of ways I hope to make the business more eco-friendly.

Delivery bags are reusable. Please leave your bag out for us to collect with your order and as long as your name is on the bag, we can continue to reuse for your next delivery. If you would like to use your own esky bag, you can purchase your own bag (having 2 is perfect so we can rotate them). In the hotter months you can also leave out an esky for us to place your meals in if you are not home for delivery.

We can also reuse containers if you would like to purchase your own. Kmart and Ikea have glass containers that work really well for meals. Let me know if you would like more information on reusing and rotating your own glass containers.

Our packaging is compostable, in fact, I have so much organic waste from kitchen scraps in my compost the containers are perfect to maintain the nitrogen- carbon balance my compost needs. If you don’t have a compost, there are other creative ways to reuse containers. For example, they make a great ground cover for your garden beds in the hotter months.

I not only love growing my own organic produce (most of your meals have something from my own garden) but am looking at sourcing more produce from our local Central Coast farmers in 2022. I’ll be updating you more on where we are procuring produce as well as a special event to meet our local growers later in the year (fingers crossed we can go ahead!)

Most of you have met Charlie by now. He will continue as your delivery driver in 2022 while he studies for the HSC (you will also find him at Sunday SIPS at Killcare SLSC). Charlie is a valued member of the Killcare Surf Club and volunteers his own time to be a surf life guard at the beach. When Charlie is not doing deliveries, you may also see my Aunty Janne and Uncle Ross who are retired but love to keep busy and deliveries are something they enjoy doing from time to time.

Thanks again for your support of Pachamama Meals. If you have questions and/or feedback, feel free to give me a call or email me. I love to hear how these meals make life a little easier for you and become a handy thing to have in the fridge or freezer for when you want a healthy, wholesome meal but don’t have time to prepare it. I also love to hear which meals you love most and if there are any dishes you would like to see on the menu.

Take care and I wish you many happy moments in 2022!
